Have you ever used a telescope before? Fred was on the moon with his telescope in hand. He decided to use it and see what’s going on at Mars. He set it up and took a peek. He couldn’t see Mars. There was something blocking Mars.

The Rio 2016 Olympics Have Started!!!

This Friday (Friday, 5 August 2016) something happened. An event that we were all waiting for... The Olympics Rio 2016 started! The olympics have gone from 1 event/sport to over 25! How cool is that? The Olympics have given out about 1000 medals! (all types) maybe even more!

Im mostly excited about the hurdles and who wins. Because the person who wins may be featured in my animation. The athlete i'm looking forward to is usain bolt. I want to see if he breaks the 100m men's record. Usain bolt, i’m cheering for you! The hurdles are actually my favourite sport in the olympics.

So altogether the olympics will be fun to watch and I wish good luck for the athletes competing this Olympics. YOU should watch it! (if you like sports) so bye! I hope you have a good time watching it!

The olympics are not really my thing so I probably won’t watch it. Unless if i’m forced to.

Descriptive olympic writing

Usain Bolt and other contestants were in a colossal stadium with a tremendous crowd cheering and shouting. Usain Bolt was getting ready to race in a 100m run. He was a little bit nervous but he was determined to win. Flashing cameras filled the stadium and the other contestants were almost ready to race.

The time has come. All the contestants got ready with their starting blocks. “Ready?... Set…BANG!” All the contestants ran with all their might. Usain Bolt was behind at first but then he darted across the track and got to the finish line in about 9.64 seconds.

Usain Bolt is panting on the ground and trying to get energy back. Eventually he got up and everybody was shouting and cheering and Usain Bolt was happy. He got another gold medal and he was very tired. The contestants that didn’t get a medal were very depressed. The crowd was taking even more photos than before. The noise grew louder and noisier as people cheered.

The time has come, people have trained for 4 years for the energy draining event. The Olympics is a tiring event that has many different sports. Over 10000 people come to watch. The Olympics has many sports such as swimming and weightlifting.

Information About Hurdles (Don’t bother reading if you already know)

Hurdles is a event that involves jumping and running. You have to jump over fence-like hurdles that block your way to the finish line. But you also have to sprint a long way at the same time. So speed and jump height is your main thing to train on if you are doing this.

I would compete in Hurdles because it seems to be the easiest event and also uses lots of energy. The hurdles also seem to use jumping skills which is something I have. The hurdles just seem to be the easy event altogether and it's also very hard yet again because you have to compete with other people. Although I like jumping and running around, I still think it’s quite hard unless you have the energy.

If I won in third, second, or first place I would represent New Zealand because that’s where most of my family were born. Why did I represent this country you ask? Well it’s simple. It’s all because I was born in NZ with my family and I like this country a lot. This is mainly also why I don’t like going to other countries. I think my family would be proud of me representing this country too.

I think that competing in the Olympics would be very fun and scary. Why? Well it’s because it feels like you have more than 100 families watching you. It’s also fun because some people would be cheering you on so you could win. If you won in first place you might be crying of joy and also everybody that wanted you to win would cheer. Altogether, if you are shy, competing in the Olympics may not be your best choice.

The Olympic games are really tiring but fun at the same time. Just remember that winning isn’t the goal. The goal is to do your hardest and be proud of how well you do. The olympic games have other events than just hurdles too. So if you don’t like hurdles you can search up Olympic Game Sports The Olympic games are altogether very fun to watch, or compete in.

Elemental Agent's Story

WALT: Write a story that describes the setting very well.

It was a thundering storm outside and no villains were outside in the misty air. Elemental agent was bored so he was playing on his computer playing Geometry dash. He was playing this cool level named “Robtop vs Hacker”

He only just started the level until he got teleported into the computer! Elemental agent was turned into a cube with his face on it. Elemental agent was looking around for some clues until he ran into a hacker.

                                                        

The hacker said “Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!” and ran into Elemental agent and started running but Elemental agent threw parts of the earth at him. The hacker dodged them like a boss. The hacker was hacking on to Elemental agent’s computer desktop. Elemental agent clicked on the hacker and dragged him back into Geometry dash.  The hacker dodged a few new moves until he got locked up in a cage, then got destroyed by an elemental laser. The hacker was destroyed forever and Elemental agent was teleported out of his computer. Everybody lived happily ever after.

Except the hacker.

Avengers Story

The Avengers are fighting strong and metallic Ultron robots, why you ask? Let me tell you. The Avengers were chilling in their HQ, all of a sudden Jarvis said “Iron Man, Ultrons are attacking the city!” Iron man was stunned, he quickly told the other avengers and they all went to the center of the city and waited for the Ultrons.

The Avengers did not know that the Ultrons were right under them. There were thousands, millions and trillions of robots, they were doomed. The Ultrons started attacking, Iron Man blasted about 10 of them with his supercharged laser. So now you know how they got into this mess, let’s continue the story shall we?

The Ultrons were strong, they were made of thick titanium and were filled inside with obsidian. The Avengers kept fighting the Ultrons until the Ultrons blasted Captain America with a gassy blast and put Cap (short for captain america)

to sleep. Iron Man blasted 60 Ultrons so far.

Ultron amount: 10,000

Avenger amount: 2

Buildings destroyed: 50

The Ultrons were almost gone, Iron Man had killed 5,000 Ultrons and Hulk had destroyed 3,500 Ultrons. The avengers had cleared out every Ultron but one, Iron Man blasted it into the ocean for it to rust. The Ultrons had been rid from the city and rusted to death. The Ultrons were never heard of again and most of the city lived happily ever after.

The other ones lived in heaven happily ever after, along with the amount of regular people that die everyday.

Phantom Shadow

Phantom Watcher

Walt: use similes and metaphors in our writing.

His hair was as brown as dirt, and short as a grass blade patch. His armour was made of titanium with its fire-proof coating. His muscled skin can break steel as fast as a drill. His flight can let him travel to other countries, and with his super sight he can see the way there. His shape shifting lets him turn into an ant or a living person. His laser eyes cook things like an oven. His telekinesis can move things without your hands, and his mind controlling can make people do things he wants. His last power, super speed lets him zoom around the city at faster than 500km per hour.

Immersion Assembly Term 2 2016

WALT: recount an event.

Have you ever read a comic book? Well, team 4 is learning all about comics this term. Comic books are a common thing kids like to read about with tiny boxes with pictures and words.

The school theme is “as i see it.” And it’s all about art. The other teams are learning lots of different things. Team 1 is drawing lots of their favourite things this term. Team 2 is learning about seasons and team 3 is learning about buildings (or architecture.) Team 5 is learning about wakas.

Team 4 is learning mostly about comics altogether. Captain underpants, Garfield and more. Team 4 has made a movie like the avengers but it's called “Teacher Vengers.” It's all about the villain called Bear Baxendine. Once two teacher vengers get captured, the other ones come past. Wondering Woman, Bat Guy and The Leader Captain America. The three Teacher Vengers fight Bear Baxendine. After the defeat of Bear Baxendine, the Teacher Vengers free the captured Teacher Vengers and bring Bear Baxendine to jail.

I would like to get my own comics from this terms topic. I would really like creating comics that could have funny jokes or something like that. I hope we could learn about Garfield and write a story about a garfield movie that the class would watch.

I don’t like art much because it isn’t my strong suit but I will deal with it because I get to make comics. Overall I think I will really enjoy this term. My work is really fun already. Happy star wars day!

Coding on Code Combat

At school I code using a website named Code Combat. It is a coding game but you go through almost 500 levels.

Here is a few photos of a level.

I have already beaten this level, it's pretty easy if you think about it. Although if you think you might like this coding website you should try it out! It's free unless you want to buy the star levels for about seven dollars. Mostly I think that coding is pretty fun and you should try it if you think you are up for it. Have fun coding!

McDonalds Dinner

Tonight we had a treat for dinner and went to McDonalds.  I had a triple cheeseburger, 10 chicken McBites, fries and an orange juice.  I also had a delicious hot fudge sundae.

After we finished eating, I volunteered to put away the rubbish because it is a kind thing to do so the people at McDonalds don't have to clean it up.

Checking my eyes

Today I needed to have my eyes tested again.  We went to Specsavers and had to wait an extremely long time.  When it was finally my turn I had to go into a little room and I had to look into a machine that had a picture of a hot air balloon flying over a road.  Then after a few seconds of that I went back to the testing room and look at some small letters on the wall and answer some questions.  After that I had to read some sentences from a laminated sheet.  The eye doctor was happy with my eyes but I had to get some tweaks made to my glasses so they don't fall off when I look down.  That took about fifteen minutes as they kept trying to get it perfect.  My glasses make it much better for me to see things.

Fiafia Reflection 2016

Walt: organise my ideas into paragraphs and link them together.

Have you ever seen one of Pt England’s Fiafia events? Fiafia is very exciting and very fun to watch, Fiafia is one of our few events and Pt England school. Fiafia is probably my favourite event apart from year 5 & 6 camp.

If you don’t know what Fiafia is, Fiafia is an event at our school where all the students learn a dance or something like that, they practice for a long time. Then they all perform on a stage in front of over three thousand people. Fiafia is mostly on Thursday 7th of April 2016 unless it gets prosponed. Fiafia used to be set out in the school hall, but these days it’s on the field.

My group for Fiafia was Jump Jam which was taught by Ms Shamanik, Ms Tumahai and Mrs Stickland. Jump Jam is probably the 2nd most energetic group in Fiafia. The reason I chose Jump Jam is because it was the only group i’m familiar with apart from Hip Hop. I was practicing for over 5 Weeks.

My favourite group (apart from mine) was Hip Hop Middle and that group was taught by Mr Baxendine my home room teacher. It was my favourite because they had a song I mostly hear on “The Breeze” in my mom’s car, and their actions were really good.

Altogether, this Fiafia was the best one i’ve ever watched and practiced for. I would recommend coming to our Fiafia, because it’s really fun to watch. Fiafia was the best event so far on 2016. I hope you liked my reflection on my Fiafia!
